Design Automata Promo
This card was made to promote the Design Automata website. The striking image on the front is meant to make people curious. The code that created the image is revealed on the back. Although it looks a little intimidating, I hoped that it would inspire a visit to the site by showing how powerful code can be.

Light painting has been a hobby of mine ever since I got my first digital SLR camera. This piece was created by shining a flashlight through a piece of glass. The goal here was to make a pleasant visual metaphor for energy - becuase when you think about it, what does energy really look like?

This light painting was made by printing out a black and white poster of the same design, then painting the light with a stick of incense. The black squares from the original print can still be seen because they absorbed more of the light than the surrounding white paper. I wasn't expecting this - originally the print was meant just to be a guide - but it worked out nicely.
